FAQ

What is the best pet in Steal An Egg?
There is no fixed best pet — income is weight times mutation. The strongest pets combine a million-kilogram-class weight roll with a top mutation like Rainbow 2.5x or Spirit Bloom 3x from late biomes.
Where do pets come from?
Eggs stolen from guarded nests hatch into biome-themed pets: Forest animals like the Frog and Fennec, a Lake swan area, desert T-Rexes, the Snow yeti and cosmic creatures near the sleeping dragon.
Do pets keep earning when I am offline?
Pets generate money while they sit in your base. The game has no confirmed offline-earnings guarantee, so treat long sessions of income as something to verify in game.
How does fusing pets work?
The Fuse Machine combines three pets. If all three share one mutation, the result keeps it and can roll heavier. Mismatched fuses can lose the mutation — only fuse trios that share a trait.

How do pets earn money in Steal An Egg?

Pets are the income engine: hatch one, park it in your base, and it generates cash every second. The amount comes from three rolls made the moment an egg hatches, and understanding all three is the difference between a base that trickles and one that funds every treadmill upgrade:

  1. Rarity — the pet’s base money-per-second rate.
  2. Weight in kilograms — the size roll, and the biggest lever. Weight scales the base income; community measurements put million-kilogram pets in the millions-per-second range before any multiplier.
  3. Mutation — the multiplier stamped on top, from Silver 1.25x to Spirit Bloom 3x. Full table in the mutations guide.

Weight and mutation both show before the hatch finishes, so you always know what you hatched before the animation ends.

Is there a best-pets tier list?

Not a fixed one — and any site claiming a static tier list is guessing. Because weight and mutation roll independently, the actual ranking rule is:

A Huge pet with a weak mutation beats a small pet with a strong one more often than not. Target the heaviest egg you can carry, then improve the multiplier.

The developer’s official art shows what the ceiling looks like: the T-Rex Egg and Yeti Egg are both depicted at $89,121Sp per second. Those are showcase eggs from late biomes — the ladder to reach them runs through all ten biomes, each with bigger pets and meaner guards.

Which pets guard the biomes?

Every nest is guarded, and the guardian scales with the biome: a chicken in Forest, a swan at Lake, T-Rexes in the desert, the yeti in Snow, and a massive sleeping dragon in the cosmic zone. Guardians chase you the moment you grab an egg, which is why Speed — not carrying capacity — decides whether a steal sticks. The sleeping cosmic dragon is also a warning shot for the end-game: content like The Rift and its Abyss Overlord extend the boss roster beyond nest guardians.

Community resources name early pets including the Frog, Duckling, Jerboa, Fennec, Bird and Catfish from the Forest, and the Crane — the pet that unlocks the Sakura Incubator in Cherry Blossom. A fully verified pet-per-biome table will be added once it survives a live check.

The fusing rules that reroll your luck

The Fuse Machine takes three pets and produces one:

  • All three share a mutation → the result keeps that mutation, with a chance to come out heavier. This is the only reliable way to upgrade weight without re-stealing eggs.
  • Mismatched mutations → the result can come out plain. Never fuse a mutation you cannot replace.

So the practical loop is: hatch heavily in your current biome, fuse same-mutation trios for weight rerolls, and climb to the next biome when egg income plateaus. Saturday’s Admin Abuse events hand out mutation chances that make cheap fuses suddenly worthwhile.

Defending what you hatched

The official description lists stealing from other players as a core feature, and hatched pets are not exempt — players can rob your base too. With only seven players per server, someone always notices an undefended nest. The beginner guide covers the habits: claim your free rewards, upgrade the treadmill before cosmetics, and never leave fresh eggs unattended while you shop.
